The Electric Chair 005: The Horrible Absurd Grim Reaper Beast

May 27, 2012

Filmmaker Shawn Ewert from Right Left Turn Productions joins Midnight Corey this week to talk about his upcoming film Sacrament. They go on to review American Gothic (1988) and George’s Intervention (2009).

Vaughn from Motion Picture Massacre was so kind as to stop by and talk about the notorious filmmaker Joe D’Amato. Vaughn and Corey review Anthropophagus (1980) and its “sequel” Absurd (1981).

The first listener voicemail for The Electric Chair was sent in this week by Jonny T! Check out his web site, where he talks about all kinds of great horror things. If you would like to leave feedback, voicemail, or send a review to be played on the show, you can upload it on the Contact page.

All that and a good dose of Midnight Corey’s randomness. Leave a comment here and on iTunes if you would be so kind.

I love to hear from listeners. Voicemail, feedback, reviews … whatever you got. To make this easier, I’ve made it possible for you to upload your audio file (mp3 or m4a) directly to me by using the form on the Contact page. Record yourself and send it in! I’ll play it on the show.

Website Improvements

May 24, 2012

You may have noticed that small improvements are showing up here and there on the website. For instance, I just added the newest episode to the home page, making it easy for visitors to go right to the latest show. And very soon, I’m adding a timing rundown to each episode so you can go directly to whatever segment you want to without having to scrub through and search for it yourself.

All that and much more to come. Episode 5 arrives in a few short days, with the very first piece of audio feedback from a listener. Thanks again for listening.

Episode 4

May 20, 2012

Listen now! This show is packed with guests, and I am truly grateful to have spoken with all of them. Author Deno Sandz, editor/publisher Gravedigger Cena Pelayo, filmmaker Bryan Wolford, actress Kitsie Duncan, critic/friend Craig “Terror” Tovey, and filmmaker Eric Michael Kochmer all join me for wonderful discussion that you won’t want to miss. Thank you for your support, and for listening!

The Electric Chair 004: Beware The Lake

May 20, 2012

A guest-filled show: author Deno Sandz stops by to talk about his latest novel Blood Plantation and to review one of the newest film adaptations of a Stephen King novel: Bag of Bones (2011).

Gravedigger (Cina Pelayo) joins Midnight Corey to talk about Burial Day Books, and their newest release, Gothic Blue Book. Gravedigger and Corey then get to talk about the classic horror film Carnival of Souls (1962).

Fellow podcaster Craig “Terror” Tovey hangs out for a bit and reviews Ti West’s The Innkeepers (2011).

Actor/filmmaker Eric Michael Kochmer is so kind as to join Midnight Corey to talk about his upcoming noir film Way Down in Chinatown. Support the making of this great film!

Last—but far from least—filmmaker Bryan Wolford and actress/model Kitsie Duncan talk to Midnight Corey about their short film Myctophobia.

Midnight Corey tops it all off with his reviews of Zombie Diaries 2 (2011) and Death is No Escape (2011).

All that and a good dose of Midnight Corey’s randomness. Leave a comment here and on iTunes if you would be so kind.

Changes!

May 16, 2012

Please bear with me as things have suddenly changed with the show. There will be a new iTunes feed, which is the biggest change, I’m sad to say. Things will be straightened out, I promise! Thank you again for listening, and for your understanding.

The Electric Chair 003: Killing Is Magic

May 13, 2012

Howard Ford, co-director of The Dead (2010), sits in The Electric Chair this week! He talks about the trials and tribulations involved in making his phenomenal zombie movie, which are documented in full in his brilliant book Surviving the Dead.

Also, Maria Olsen — horror actor, writer, producer, director, and all-around wonderful person — stops by to talk about her exciting new crowdsourced feature film Way Down in Chinatown. It’s definitely worth checking out and supporting — give a little if you can!

But it doesn’t stop there. It’s also a week devoted to The Woman in Black. Katie ROTS from Rotten Rantings joins Midnight Corey to talk about the 2012 version in theaters, then Mike from Evil Episodes drops by to talk about the 1989 version.

As if all that isn’t enough, Midnight Corey gives his reviews of two new releases: Inkubus (2011) and The Pack (2011).

All that and a good dose of Midnight Corey’s randomness. Leave a comment here and on iTunes if you would be so kind.

Episode 3

May 13, 2012

The third episode of The Electric is live, and I had a great time with director Howard Ford! I was also honored to talk with Maria Olsen, who’s part of an exciting film Way Down in Chinatown, and I hope you’ll support it however you’re able. Thanks also to Mike Maryman and Katie ROTS for joining me for great discussion on both adaptations of The Woman in Black. Thanks for listening!

Thank you!

May 11, 2012

As the third episode of The Electric Chair is about to be released, I wanted to thank everyone for the overwhelming support. I’m having a blast talking to all kinds of people in the horror industry, all from different backgrounds and different perspectives. It’s amazing, and truly a privilege.

Some really wonderful things are in the works for the show, and I appreciate that you’re listening.
